About

I, callsign KN6QOX, am a humble tinkerer that spends my days wrangling software engineers and my evenings and weekends wrangling kids and cats.  Every once in a while I get to play with some electronics and radios, learning a few things about how to throw radio waves through the air.

I enjoy the journey of learning new things and figuring out how things work.  Give me the opportunity to build something rather than just handing me a pre-built device and I'll have a whole lot more fun with it.

I've started this website to explore the topic of ham radio and related broader communications like GMRS and LoRa with the hopes of learning how to communicate without the need of 3rd party providers, just for when they may eventually fail and we still need to communicate with each other in a meaningful way across great distances.

I am here to share my learnings and my experiences.
